  • Migrante Alberta's Rights and Welfare Action Committee (RWAC)

    ​The Rights and Welfare Action Committee (RWAC) is a committee of Migrante Alberta that directly provide assistance to all migrants regardless of status.

    RWAC is a direct referral system that provides orientations for newcomers to Alberta as well as education on migrant and labour rights.

    Committee members are trained to handle inquiries and provide appropriate actions.

  • CELPIP Review

    Prepare for Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) exam, which is a requirement for most permanent residency applications. These sessions aim to help you prepare for the different components (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).

  • Global Cafes

    AWARE's Global Cafes bring workers together in a safe space to break isolation, share stories and support each other. 

    These gatherings are private in order to keep workers feeling safe. If you are interested please contact us directly and we can meet with you to provide more information.

  • Workshops

    AWARE occasionally offers workshops and education sessions.

    Workshop topics include labour and employment rights (an overview of Alberta legislation to help you understand your rights as a worker) and regularization (an overview of immigration status and the Canadian history of regularizing and not regularizing undocumented residents).

Allied Organizations

AWARE works within and alongside organizations dedicated to advancing migrant justice and workers rights.

International Migrants Alliance

AWARE is affiliated with the International Migrants Alliance (IMA).

​IMA is the first-ever global alliance of, for and led by grassroots migrants, refugees and displaced peoples. IMA was established in June 2008 and currently has more than 158 member organizations from more than 30 countries worldwide. 

Migrante Alberta

Migrante is a non-profit advocacy and self help organization. In Alberta, we address the immediate issues facing migrants and our compatriots. We provide assistance through referrals, advocate and campaign on migrants’ issues. We work closely with labour unions and community based organizations.

​​It is affiliated with Migrante Canada, a national alliance of 20 Filipino migrants organization from BC to the Maritimes.

Familia Migrante Latino

Familia Migrante Latino (FAM) is a community-focused grassroots organization aimed at supporting Latin American migrants in Edmonton.

Familia Migrante Latino (FAM) es una organización de base centrada en la comunidad destinada a apoyar a migrantes de Latinoamericana en Edmonton.

Migrant Rights Network

The Migrant Rights Network is a cross-Canada alliance to combat racism and fight for migrant justice. They are a network of organizations of migrants including farmworkers, careworkers, international students, undocumented people as well as allies.
